Administering Radiesse

Radiesse can be injected during an office visit in just 30 minutes. Before the procedure, the injection areas will be marked and cleaned. A local anesthetic may be used for additional comfort; however, the filler itself is mixed with lidocaine.

Your injector nurse will inject the Radiesse filler into the skin using a syringe. Following the procedure, you may experience numbness or redness near the injection sites, which normally subsides in a short time. There is no downtime, and you will be able to return to work following your appointment.

What to Expect

Following a Radiesse injection, a noticeable difference will be evident. Since the injection ingredient works to produce and stimulate collagen development, results will be longer-lasting than some of the other fillers on the market.

Results will yield a fuller, younger-looking contour that is soft and smooth. Typically, results last up to one year, but repeated injections can be obtained to maintain your desired outcome.

What About Other Fillers?

Patients who are considering an injectable dermal filler as part of their cosmetic treatment have a diverse selection of fillers to choose from. Fillers such as Radiesse are considered temporary, even though the results may last up to one year. Common filler treatments include collagen, calcium hydroxyapatite, hyaluronic acid, polylactic acid, and the heaviest filler, PMMA. During your consultation for Radiesse, Newport Beach plastic surgeon Dr. Kevin Sadati will evaluate your facial tone, laxity, and volume levels to determine whether Radiesse or any of the various other fillers may be the best choice.

What about side effects?

Patients undergoing Radiesse may experience mild redness, bruising, numbness, and/or itching following treatment. These are temporary side effects that usually disappear within a day or two.
