Baby Boomers Turning To Cosmetic Surgery
Dr. Kevin Sadati discusses a rising trend among baby boomers who are turning to cosmetic surgery to stay competitive in both the job market and dating world. Some of the most popular procedures discussed include facelifts and eyelid surgery.
Many baby boomers who are looking to stay competitive in the workforce and in the dating world are turning to facial cosmetic procedures. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, over 500,000 facial surgeries were performed in 2014 alone.
Dr. Kevin Sadati of the Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery notes that there are many benefits of facial cosmetic surgery for baby boomers. “Some of the most popular procedures we see with the baby boomer generation are facelifts and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). Issues like sagging eyelids or loose skin around the neck can make an individual look much older than he or she actually is. Sadly, this can affect job prospects and certainly influence the individual’s confidence when dating.” Dr. Sadati goes on to say that with a simple facelift or eyelid procedure, patients who are concerned about these issues can look years younger.
Dr. Sadati suggests neck lift or facelift procedures as one of the most rewarding facial procedures a baby boomer can undergo. Dr. Sadati has extensive experience and has performed nearly 3000 facelift procedures and has even pioneered a natural facelift procedure called the “Double C Plication.” This specialized facial muscle tightening technique was published in 2011 in a landmark research paper published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. In the article, Dr. Sadati documents his revolutionary technique and patient results. His natural facelift technique provides a durable, natural-looking lift as well as a quick recovery time. This procedure has proven so effective that other cosmetic surgeons have also adopted it.
Eyelid surgery is another extremely beneficial cosmetic procedure for baby boomers, offering a way to smooth wrinkles, adjust any droopy excess skin around the eyes and even correct puffiness and dark circles. Blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery, be performed on the upper eye lids, lower eye lids or both depending on the patient’s needs.
Surprisingly, statistics reveal that women are not the only members of the baby boomer generation to undergo facial cosmetic procedures. Ten years ago, only about ten percent of cosmetic surgery was performed on men. Now, it is as much as twenty percent thanks to cosmetic surgery becoming more widely accepted. Along with facial plastic surgery procedures, many men are also concerned with hair loss. Dr. Sadati notes that hair lines can be refreshed with some of the cosmetic procedures available to patients today.
Dr. Kevin Sadati specializes in facial cosmetic surgery, and has pioneered new and effective procedures including the Double C Plication. To ensure his patients are comfortable and safe, Dr. Sadati uses local anesthesia and twilight sedation, no general anesthesia. He also spends time with each patient, discussing the patient’s needs and expectations before any procedure. Dr. Sadati is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon as well as otolaryngology/head and neck surgery, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. With extensive experience in the field of facial cosmetic surgery, as well as a natural artistic eye, Dr. Sadati has helped thousands of patients achieve the look they desire.
